Young ones live in the moment, in happiness and contentment.
We'll soon cure them of that...

Baby Hell 2 cartoon

BABY HELL was one of my rejected submissions to "alternative" comics publishers in the early 1990s. I did get some things published here and there, and this period marked my return to art after two years incapacitated.

These are some parts of the BABY HELL story, in India ink on paper.

Cartoons are the lowest art form

restless eyebrows, funny eyebrows, crazy eyebrows
Cartoonists have restless eyebrows, a neurosis from inner comedy.

 Cartoons are the artworld's
embarrassing cousin!

All men and women cartoonists
have one thing in common . . .
quintuple negative grammar cartoon
"Theirs is the lowest of the arts"

Marginally higher on the respect-heap
are fine art painters . . .

Brave experimental painters seek and find truth

The very finest artists only work when the mood strikes, unlike
those lowly commercial artists with their trashy 'deadlines' . . .

The truth is, painters starve as much as cartoonists do,
craving the same elusive dignity and respect . . .

But back to cartoonists . . .
